The first noble truth of the Buddha is that when we feel suffering,
it doesn’t mean something is wrong.
What a relief. Finally somebody told the truth. Suffering is a part of life,
and we don’t have to feel it’s happening because we personally made a wrong move.

I once heard from a wise person that there are two kinds of human suffering; that which comes from the course of life, and that which humans do to one another like war or an unkind word. This second kind is called “optional suffering”. Therefore there is a choice for us to reduce or eliminate optional suffering. It is a calling.
