Holy rest

The spirituality of work arises from the inside out. It does not depend on the job we have but on the way we do the job we have. Work is holy because we are holy – if we bring our holiness to it.
But so is rest holy.
The Sabbath is not simply a day off; it is a day up – a day to remember who we are beyond what we do.

Thank you for sharing this quote, Karl Duffy - Mindfulbalance
After a two-hour nap, I decided to sit with my daily devotion, and this quote by Joan Chittister was offered.
A great description! And it was totally my intention… today… to rest and understand it to be a holy time.
This day, a time of rest, a Sabbath, is most definitely a time away from technology. It is a time to sit outside as the season transitions and listen to the birds calling to one another while they prepare for their fall flights. It is heading to the river to watch boats float up and down to the rhythm of the moving water.
These are gentle moments. Gifts of time where all expectations are put on hold, and shoulder muscles have the opportunity to relax.
At least one day a week, this is good for everyone. Even half a day a week can help set aside a holy time.
How do you experience Sabbath?
