Recently, I sent a message to someone who offers important reflections on our political environment. I knew it needed to be shared with a broader audience when I wrote it.
Many posts reflect people’s intent as they vote this year. Those posts are comprehensive and often touch on many reasons I vote.
I ask that those reflecting on reasons to vote add a vote for people with disabilities to your list of minorities.
We are receiving both subtle and direct threats to our livelihood and, to put it bluntly, our existence. This is real and could affect so many people disabled from birth, from chronic illness, and/or the natural process of aging. It needs to be named.
I can identify with many of the minorities listed in these essential reflections. So many people reading these posts are searching for representation. Representation is critical for all, including people with disabilities.
I am grateful for everyone's work in raising awareness. Your writing is essential. It inspires and gives energy to “stay the course” toward November 5. Thank you.

AMEN TIMES 100000000!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is a very important post. I’m gonna come back to it and share parts of it. I have twins that were disabled from birth because of hospital negligence. The headache around maintaining sustainable support is crippling actually.
I get what you’re talking about. Thank you for giving awareness to this topic.
