After his baptism, Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. (Luke 4:1)
He came up out of the baptismal waters and heard a voice saying… ‘You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.’ The spirit descended in the form of a dove.
Maybe his eyes were opened to the fullness of his purpose.
Maybe it was time to process! The wilderness called – a place to be alone and prepare.
Throughout life - times appear and re-appear to cleanse and redirect. It is important to pay attention.
These opportunities bring clarity and strength to hear God’s call.
May these 40 days reveal moments enriched through water and wilderness.
